No, you must undertake practical legal training in order to be issued with a practicing certificate. This is usually done through the College of Law, although I think a couple of universities incorporate it into their law degree (such as UTS), which allows law graduates to gain the practicing certificate near immediately.

You definitely don't get certified as a lawyer when out of law school.
