Pretty much. They make you go in a group and do things together with your mentor.
Nevermind that I never saw anyone in my group after that ever again...

ok.. if you look at b. economics and b. applied finance separately you will get the core units for each degree. for first year its:

b. econ: ECON110 ECON111 ECON141 STAT170
b. app fin: ACST101 ACCG105 ISYS123 ECON110 ECON111 ECON141 STAT170

as you can see there are 7 core units for first year. or if you choose to do ACCG100 AND ACCG101 you will have 8. if you choose to do ACCG105 you will have 1 unit as an elective which i recommend you do either MKTG101 or BBA102. those two units are needed for professional recognition.

first semester: ECON110 STAT170 ACST101 ISYS123
second semester: ECON111 ECON141 ACCG105 BBA102

you can choose to do ACST101 in second semester if you want which leaves you the option of doing MKTG101 in first semester.

hope this helps...

jlh...i got the handbook and looked at the units separately from acc and app fin.....say i did acc for my hsc.....do i choose accg 100 and 101 or just accg 105???
oh...plus...tat handbook says this:new student enrolment: students enrolling for the first time for fulltime or part time day or evening study will be requried to attend on a specified day or evening at the North Ryde campus on a specified day in mid Feb, the exception to this will be students .....failure to attend may result in a studnet forfeiting his or her place and enrolment not being accpeted....???wat is tat suppose to mean???if i make in...is tat mean i have to stay and can't go overseas?

you have to be there to get your academic program approved by a member of staff and to enrol. you should be able to either get it done beforehand or fill out a proxy form and get someone to do it on your behalf. its a pretty crap day though with massive queues. you really should get your program checked by an academic advisor though.

i don't think you can get credit or exemption for any of your HSC stuff as its not a diploma and only a certificate 2.

if your going to do b. applied finance/ b. commerce accounting, then you should do ACCG100 and ACCG101.

heres a sample program:
semester 1: ACCG100 ECON110 ISYS123 STAT170
semester 2: ACCG101 ECON110 ACST101 ECON141

ummm..tat's ok..i will check then up when i get my offer and rest...but the 2005 handbook....umm....for accounting (just accounting) it says core one of COMP units and underneath it...is ISYS units..... but say for Core either STAT170 or Stat 171...it states OR...but for COMP and ISYS..it didn't...so i'm a bit lost....it's on page 229~~~hehe~~~:p
