Some physics students wanted to measure the path of a projectile launched from the top of a building. The building is 15m high.

a) If the projectile is launched with a velocity of 10m/s at an angle of 60 degrees to the horizontal, calculate its maximum height above the ground.

b) Calculate the time it takes to reach the ground from release.

c) Calculate the final velocity just before it hits the ground (include direction)

Answers:

a) 18.83m

b) 2.83 seconds

c) 19.8m at an angle of 75.4 degrees

Can someone also explain the whole process of calculating the flight time of something if it is launched from a place higher than ground level? (That is, if there is extra distance for it to fall)

Thanks.

Brilliant. Thanks very much. It's much clearer now :)
