Just wondering, what I be able to get full marks if I attempted a projectile motion question using calculus? I think this approach is a bit quicker in some questions.

Yea I was wondering about this too, I like calculus more than shitty subbing in values into equations.

It really depends on the marking scheme.

For instance, some marking schemes would use 'substitutes values into correct/valid equations'

Equations not in the syllabus or not derived may be considered as invalid. I always tell my students, if they want to use the range equation or something, derive it and then use it. Don't just list it and use it as it may be deemed invalid.
But, the minute spent deriving it may be longer than using actual physics eqns.
Look at HSC 2004 q16 -- using range equation will take u 1 step, but marking scheme needs correct substitution into relevant formulae and formulae is a plural, indicating more than one formula must be used!
