Yes, from memory, they can even lock your PS2 completely from online play and such. Not sure though, it could be worse or better, you will have to research it.

don't see why not. Friend of mine is doing their slim line model next weekend. I think they realise patches for games so it works online or something i'm not really sure. (ok so the friend is me !)

Since it voids your warranty, the guy who's doing it for me, you pay $50 extra and he gives you a 1 year warranty, not just for the mod chip and installation but if your ps2 burns out or stuffs up or something in a year he'll replace it.

Only gives it on slim models because there is something about their lasers burning out (happens on both modded and unmodded consoles).

yeah i heard about the laser burning out. The modder i know stopped chipping the pstwo cause of the low quality of the motherboard. Does anyone know of any modders that are in the illawarra district? I hope i don't get caught. That would suck bad!

This is why you use a PS2 HD loader instead of a mod chip. A bit more expensive, but zero load times on a playstation are well worth it.

the ps2 slim aint got no HDD support. Oh well, i dont mind sacrifing HDD support for sleekness =D Only 1 or 2 games are going to use the hard drive anyway (officially) but yeah i guess using the HD Loader would've been pretty good.
