If I were to discuss King Lear as a psychological drama, what issues should I be talking about? My teacher claims that when you pick a reading, you must link back to its themes... also, I read that "King Lear can also be viewed as a family drama - this has aspects of a psychological reading in it also", what does that mean? Please help me out, this will be my last speech in high school, so I want it to be the best one! :p

... if I were to discuss King Lear as a psychological drama, is it appropriate to talk about the following:

- Lear initially has many flaws, but after he loses everything, he learned that he was wrong
- It was evil for Goneril and Regan to reject Lear. But another perspective exists - perhaps Lear is the one who's unreasonble (he intrudes Goneril's home with his knights)
- Edmond is different, he believes in nature rather than relying on God - perhaps he is not completely evil.
- Edmond has changed in the end, wanting to "to some good" "despite mine own nature"
- Gloucester was originally flawed like Lear.
- Gloucester has changed after he was blinded.

Thanks.

I'd also include the incest aspect of it, but maybe that's just me.
