Hey guys just thought i'd check this one from the 2003 HSC

Would you say that you use the import feature from MS access, and find the spreadsheet file (in this case an ms excel file) to be imported? What else can i say :S

Right, i've got the 2003 Student Answers book infront of me so i'll just copy out whats in there:

To get full marks for this question you were required to outline four or more steps in correct sequence.

And for the "high" mark responses, one of them has actually mentioned something about MSWord and nothing about Excel lol. But pretty much:

1. Obtain copy of spreadsheet file.
2. Open MSAccess, File -> Open the DB file.
3. File -> Import Data (select the spread sheet file extension .xls from the "File Type" pull down box)
4. Locate the spreadsheet file and click OK to import the data into the table.

Or something very similar to that.

When you do the import you have to make sure that the top row of the spreadsheet has headings that correspond to the field names you want the data in that column to be mapped to in the database.
