Quantitatively, using a measure to describe a thing.
Eg. That dog has 30kg mass.

Qualitatively, using a description to describe the thing.
Eg. That dog is fat.

qualitative analyses: getting information on a specific sample of the types of species present.

quantitative analyses: getting information on how much of a specific constituent is in a specific sample

so yeah, kinda the same as halo's explanation :)

quantitatively: using numbers
qualitatively: using words
