Darn, got this wrong too, but I know for a fact that if its a normal distribution anything within a standard deviation of 1 makes up 68%.....the answer would have been 21%

Kinda hard to explain, I'll do a sideways diagram....

--------------------------------------- (mean)
--------------------------------- (S.D.=1)
---------------------------- (S.D.=2)
----------------------- (S.D.=3)

So....everything between -1 and 1 = 68%, then you've got 21% from -3 to -1, and 21% from 1 to 3. Hope this helps

Yes but if you look at the graph again, it reads that 1-3 hours is $10

Umm, something tells me I got very confused right about here.....isn't the 68% below 1 s.d. (and above -1 s.d.)??? Arrgghhh, so confused!!!
Gonna go over this while I have a ciggie....(maybe I'll be hit by a flash of brilliance? If not, I guess lighting would do....)

Well I thought it could have been 2.5% aswell, but I made sure, and I found that it was actually 16%.

If it is above 1 S.D of the mean (not including), then it should read like this:

34% + 13.5% + 2.35% + 0.15 % = 50% ( this is the positive + half)

so if we count all above 1 S.D above the mean, then it should be
13.5% + 2.35% + 0.15% = 16%

Hope y'all understand that lol...

lolz, question 26, everyone came out of the hall, saing that 26 was really hard, but i didnt find it that way at all

26 a) i) a = 60 000 , cant be bothered for explanation except if someone wants to know why

ii) 1) b = 60000/30 b=2000
2) b = how many ppl leave per minute...

iii) i had t=N-a+b

iv) 5 minutes, since 10 000 / 2000 = 5

v) yeah like i can do that question on here

b) i) at b i drew a True North line, then from that line marked 020 degrees, then the other side of the line towards the line AB is 90 degrees since B from A is due east, 90 + 20 = 110

ii) Sine rule.....dont even know if i done sine rule right

therefore 25 minutes?

connie, there only asking for how long it takes for 10 000 ppl to leave the stadium

if 2000 ppl leave each minute

then it will be 10 000/2000 = 5 minutes

double check that, 5 * 2000 = 10 000

for ur answer, u actually got the answer for how long it takes for 50 000 ppl to leave which is 25 mins
