Or is the cutoff a final line they draw and they don't consider anyone under this mark unless they have EAS etc.Its about supply and demand to determine the ATAR cut off each year, and remember some unis give bonus points for getting band 6 in relevant subjects for a degree, so your final 'ATAR' that is used to calculate admission ranking may be different from your actual ATAR.
