i'm not sure if this is a valid as a general question, but for those of you who got 95+, did you necessarily have to be in the top ranks for each of your subjects? or would it still be okay to be in the middle-ish ranks and do pretty well in the external exams to get that uai?

i was just contemplating trying to get in the top 10s for ALL of my subjects, but even the mere thought of it seems like i'd probably hurt myself trying to do it. ( :chainsaw: ) SO! just wanted to see if it's absolutely necessary to do so .....:p

no... i went to SBHS and only had 1 single digit rank out of all my subjects and that was a 9th and i ended up doing alright...(though the assessment mark did drag me down a bit) In the end its only 50% of the marks.

But it depends on the school. like in ruse if you are below average you'll still prolly get about 99 while at say some lower ranked selective school, it'll be different.

 dragged you down a bit ... with a UAI of 99.65 !?!!?! that's right up there with my friend who decided that she "failed" her hsc by getting 98.9.

i'm asking from a non-ruse (dude. i wonder if anyone from there really needs any reassurance as to how they would go ....!!!), st george girls kind of bg.

single digit ranks would rock at st george
especially near the top, the difference isnt much in terms of uai
you would probably be packed around like a 0.5 margin
