Hi,

I know we are taught the triangle inequalities in complex numbers, but apart from proving them, what questions can be asked from them? Has there been questions previously asked in the HSC using them?

It can say like:

Find the largest distance for 2 vectors

or something, with better wording, and for this you use the triangle inequality condition where they're equal.

I don't think a question has been asked where the triangle inequality has been applied to complex numbers.
But it has been applied to general inequalities - the inequality question in the 2000 paper springs to mind.
