i've got a question which i aint sure about. let's say that i get really crap internal marks like in the 60s in some of my subjects and in the hsc exam i improve my marks and get something along the lines of high 80s in the same subjects, then would my marks be still scaled down heeps even tough i have showed improvement. i tried asking some of teachers and all i could get was" sorry we dont know how it works" . thanks in advance.

that would depend on your rank in this case, but if your really did get in the 60s for your assessment mark, and got in the 80s in the external exam, then they moderate the assessment to whatever mark you got in the exam.
eg, 1st in maths with a internal mark of 67
came 1st in the hsc external exam with 85
then moderated assessment mark and hsc exam mark both 85, therefore hsc subject mark is 85
