identify data, gather and process information from secondary sources to identify examples of naturally occurring acids and bases and their chemical composition.

need some information on it, sites or whatever, especially for bases. thanks

im pretty sure ammonia is extremely rare to occur naturally, usually by microscopic decomposition and transformations in the soil.

infact i think all naturally occuring soluble bases are extremely rare relative 2 the acids. Most of these are produced by biological processes in living things and are mainly in the forms of HCO3 + and CO3 2+ ions, Also our blood is slightly basic. On the otherhand naturally occuring solid bases are quite common, including calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and many others found in rocks like limestone etc etc.

I think saltpetre is sodium nitrate.

uhm, i fink bird usually produce their nitrogenous waste in the form of uric acid... uhm and interesting how we haf to know the naturally occuring bases as well, cuz all we've being doin are naturally occuring acids:

hydrocloric acid (in tummy): hcl
citric acid (in fruit): c6h8o7
ascorbic acid (vitamin c): c6h8c6
ethanoic (acetic) acid (vinegar): ch3cooh (or c2h4o2)

other acids that may occur naturally (ie h2so4, as there are natural sources of so4 present, and h2co3) are in very minute amount and can be disregarded.

pplz, ammonia does occur naturally, altho i think it prolly reacted to someother things as soon as it is produced.....

fresh water fish produce their nitrogenous waste as ammonia... so yeah

dependin on the urine of which organism u are talkin abt... human forexample excrete nitrogenous waste in the form of urea, which is not ammonia.....
