when an object is fired from a ground, both of its angle of projection and initial velocity are given. If the question asks you to find its final velocity, can u just simply state that the nature of this motion (when resistance is neg.) is actually a mirror reflection, so the final v =intial u in magnitude and opp. in direction? Do we really have to show all the calculations for the final v?

Assuming its level ground and they are after the total velocity at the end. Be careful to clearly say the direction.

If the question simply says 'what is the final velocity?' or is the last part of a question, eg 'and hence state the final velocity' you could just write the answer.

But, most of the time the question will say 'find', which means you have to show working.

It's the same as in maths.
'What is' simply means you can state the answer with no working.
'Find' is a 'show that' question. You will lose marks if you don't show working.
