i thought at first that tactic disabled it to counter spam.

lol, imo disabling it adds to spam, i can't be bothered to copy and paste quotes, so i just double post

Quick reply still exists (currently).
Quick quote seems to have gone walkabout, for now.

Actually havin' quotes takes up a fair deal of system resources. I mean, besides the actual post, the quote itself takes space.

oh well it makes the boards easier to use! and easier to read when you have the qoute

The main difference is that most forum members weren't around ni the day of manual reply and manual quotes. There was so little spam back then, as well.

Symbolism of cars being the quick quote and quick edit. By eradicating cars, people arent quoting or editing as often.
