Hey,

Just curious as to why someone is ranked third although they have the second-highest mark in the class/grade.
That is, say two students who both recieve the same mark (its also the highest mark) are ranked first, but the student with the second highest mark is ranked third rather than second.

isnt that because rank is your position in the class/grade since there are 2 ppl above you, your third

Correct! The 2 above are ranked equal first....and the next one is third and so on

ok soo.. what if your ranks are bad liek they are in the bottom half ? is there still a cahnge to get 80s in uai?

Certainly, if your school's average(raw marks) in the HSC is decent and your score is decent. However, the people who are ranked above you ,must do well in order to pull you up. You must do well to maintain a good average.
