Hi there!
The school I attend has a ranking that fluctuates quite dramatically.
2011: ~200s
2012: ~300s
2013: ~400s

Could the rank also shift dramatically in 2015 HSC? Our year was the first grade to be partially selective.

I was just curious as to what ranks I should be aiming for, for a 97+ ATAR
Eng. Adv: /70-80s
Maths Adv: /70s
Maths Ext. /40s
Maths Ext. 2: /20s (Teacher estimate)
Economics: /40s
Modern History: /50
Chemistry: /60

Thanks :)

assuming you continue MX1/MX2,

Top 10 English
Top 5 MX1
Top 5 MX2
Top 3 Economics
Top 3 Modern
Top 5 Chem

I'm guessing you prefer maths over english, so aim for 95+ MX1, 93+ MX2, 85 in English, B6 in Chem/Modern/Economics, and you'll get a 97 (this is pretty much how i plan to get 97).

I agree with squar3root, ideally - you should come first in everything to ALMOST guarantee a 97 ATAR.

I go to a rank 30-70 school and we have 15 people doing extension 2 maths and ~80 people doing extension 1 maths.

I'm not really sure about the Extension 2 Maths class number. I asked my teacher some time ago for an estimate.

My assumption is that the class will range from 10 to 15 maximum.
