I always complain abt how cooked I am but then I do nothing abt it cause the stress like paralyses me and I get nothing done.

so I wanna feel less alone. So if ur like actually cooked abt something. Not like oh I’ve done 16 past papers, I’m so cooked. Then here’s a place to rant abt it and so we can share our collective struggles

i get so irked when my gifted friends say theyre cooked like bruh NO youre not
im not a gifted person but at school every time i say im cooked i get insanely flamed for it so now i just stfu but honestly the feeling of being cooked as "a gifted person" is bc you feel underprepared, like yes ive been studying for this exam for 3 days now nonstop and every time you ask me a q i get it right and explain it nicely but still my exam is full of stupid mistakes and the constant thought of "shit i cant risk falling in ranks" is so daunting

the term cooked isnt that we're gonna fail but its that we dont know how well we're gonna perform and its scary (some times even stressful), also hot take but there isnt something called "gifted" its just skills you have gained from when you were a child and built upon it but idk

people in general ik keep telling me how cooked they are for chem and how much harder its going to get (like thanks dude, i'm fully aware). Yet they keep telling me not to consider dropping the subject so that I can help them work on chem, but aghhhh i've been telling them I legit can't (I barely passed by a single mark or smth) and they go to tutoring for it anyways :/

of course i understand what youre saying but youre not who im talking about here tho i prob shouldve specified. im talking about those who completely downplay their efforts to make me feel better beforehand and act surprised when they get much higher than me

but you cant deny some people are just born with the ability to retain information much better than others

yeah but then that’s everyone. We can never know how we’ll perform so then we’ll always be cooked. I feel like this is different from being cooked cause I take cooked as being unprepared and therefore I’m gonna fail cause of that

I'm literally cooked burnt and fried these holidays 💀 Funny thing is that I don't even know where my time went 😅 Hopefully I finish the rest of the terms work this week and not have a replay of the last
My summer hols were way more productive but tbf I’ve been out nearly every day. But also I had some downtime which I should have used more productively

i feel like cooked does mean you're going to fail

that's why i feel like people only have the right to say they're cooked if post-exam cuz they know they're fried or if they really are fried pre-exam

and gifted feels like people who just picked up on things faster than others
