Say I get the below marks in the externals, what would they scale to?

EAd: 95/105
EE1: 48/50
MX1: 81/84
MX2: 109/120
Modern: 92/100
HistExt: 47/50
SDD: 91/100

Thanks.

Rough guesses:

EAd: 96
EE1: 48
MX1: 97
MX2: 98
Modern: 96
HistExt: 47
SDD: 94

Those are really rough estimates, as aligning standards change from year to year.

enoilgam, why does English scale so terribly?

I'd imagine those raw marks would be enough for 99.8 minimum, possibly .95.

Thats a really rough idea. With english, I think paper one is out of 40%, whilst paper two is out of 60%, so BOS aligns a mark out of 100 and not 105 (I'm not 100% sure on this, but I have heard it before). So english is hard to predict - I guess it could be higher. Personally estimating aligning is really pot luck as it can vary so much from year to year.

so sorry, just saw that the OP had given her/his marks out of 105. Makes sense! I know you can never tell, about scaling. Today my students wanted me to give them bands when I marked their papers, but I had no clue! Thanks anyways :)

Nonetheless, enoilgam, your estimates have given me peace of mind!
That's all I was really after.

the MX1 should be around 98-99, a 97 for MX1 is normally around 74-77 iirc
