hey,
im just going through stuff on re Kevin and i think i have my dates wrong!! Can ne one help???
the dates i have are these:
- they were married in 1999
-1997 had breast reduction to male size
- 1998 had sex reassignment
- met jennifer in 1996
living 2gether 1997 ( jennifer fall pregnant from IVF)
-1998 jennifer changed her name to Kevins
1998 kevin recived new birth certificate
1999 married and certificate issues
2003 court ruled marriage valid

Are these right??

i'm not sure if they are right, my advice is, it doesn't matter, as long as you have the main date, i.e that of the decision the others are irrelevant

it doesnt matter all that background bs. all u need to possibly mention is that when they got married "he" was, well a technical he lol. just use it as evidence, dont need to waste time detailing it like that

you'll mainly need to concentrate on WHY the court ruled the marriage was valid and that it was a precedent

The case is currently considered as "Re Kevin and Jenifer", however if you call it Re Kevin it is acceptable. PLEASE NOTE that the inclusion on all other dates is irrelevant, you should only BRIEFLY discuss the case, it decision and why it was elevant to FAMILY LAW i.e. It set a benchmark for future cases involving transegender marriages.
