Reality TV Series (1 Viewer)

hey everyone...reality tv series are really swarmming our tv channels. what do you think makes them so big? shows like seinfeld will never die out, but i feel like there will never be another show like seinfeld, or friends (shows that are funny enough, interesting enough) to go on for more then 2 series.... why is society so engrossed with these new reality shows?

Maybe because the shows are apparantly "more realistic" and can relate to many of the average viewers, (note I use these terms very loosely).

Some reality shows are actually worthwhile to watch (eg "The Amazing Race" in its earlier seasons, does gives some insight to famous cultures/landmarks around the world). But most of them are terrible, especially BB which offers no valuable or worthwhile aspect to it at all, just a bunch of people making fools of themselves (and apparantly that's entertainment).

But there are some great shows which are still broadcasted today (House M.D, Dexter, HIMYM, Criminal Minds etc,etc), give those a try.
