Oh my goodness I have totally lost faith in the HSC extension history markers. I just read the Q1 Exemplar no. 2 from 2002...THIS PERSON SPELLED 'HISTORY" as "HISTERY" THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE ESSAY!!! it must have been repeated about 40 times, complete with 'histerians' and 'histeriography'.
that is truly scary.
Seriously, look at it. It's definitely not a handwriting thing, the 'o's are written differently.
So what's with the 50/50??????

could be the style of writing making it appear as an e, or maybe the marker thought that.

and also, the essay is not dependant on the spelling of history, more on the exploration of it.

And the same units as ME!

But I am invariably too busy doing the wrong question to write the name of the exam on my booklets.
