haha, yes listen to Bon - we used to call that book's author "Fowler the toilet man"

Excel is pretty good as a summary of key syllabus elements, I found that really useful...all those yr's ago

Seriously, you'll probably understand them better than either of the textbooks :(

don't even read the option topic in that book if your doing evolution of programming langs

I just brought the Excel textbook, but i found it too brief in terms of information than the textbook by Sam Davis which my school just started using in term4. I agree with you that Sam Davis's textbook is much better than others. Now i need to go out and buy one for my myself since I can't take the textbook home :(

Why can't you take the textbook home? that would really suck

the Sam Davis textbook is good... but is also expensive like $40 or so.

I think there's a new textbook out by some woman or something don't know how good it is though.

It's by Carole Wilson. Published by Cambridge University Press.
I've only read the option topic and a few pages here and there from her book.
If anything, its better than the Heinenman.

thanks again, Cambridge are known to have reliable textbooks. But again its all depending on the author.

ill look for that one and see if it will do any use for me.

yep it sure is.... in the days before the hsc exam, SamD was hanging around heaps on the board helping us with our questions... (check out the posts just before the exam)
