Hi peoples
i have a bit of a dilemma
im getting sick of my current music collection, so i go for a wander to the cd shop...i mainly look at the top40 section, cos the rest is just too massive and daunting
but the top 40 is now filled with rap and hip hop and rnb crap and yuck stuff
where else do i discover music that i like? i dont have time to listen to the radio or anything, and theres not much of a live scene in newy

so.....i thought id share my music tastes and get people to recommend me some stuff that you think id like
i like
MISSY HIGGINS! (my fave)
evermore
powderfinger
jet
silverchair
natalie imbruglia
the killers
im thinking of buying the foo fighters cd
jack johnson
pete murray
some coldplay (but most is too depressing)
a bit of john butler trio (but some is a bit weird)

umm yeah so thats all i can remember for the moment
any suggestions?

You are too underground for her.

exactly. too underground.

when a person lists the music they listen to and its top 40 , suggesting sometihng not many have heard of will do nothing.

since you seem to like australian bands

New Buffalo - an aussie singer songwriter girl. shes pretty great. you can download some songs from her website www.newbuffalo.net I recommend Recovery, and Ive Got You and Youve Got Me from 'The last beautiful day' album.
She played Newcastle last friday.

Architecture in Helsinki - quirky australian pop. If you go to http://www.architectureinhelsinki.com/ , you can hear snippets of all their songs from their latest album. For some reason theyre playing Sydney this friday and then Brisbane on Saturday and skipping newcastle. Theyre pretty great live too, theres eight of them, all handclaps and swapping instruments.
