Yeah im pretty sure they are releasing a new album at some stage. Perhaps towards the end of this year. I much prefer Frusciante's solo stuff to RHCP though...

I love all the stuff before One Hot Minute. They were best with Hillel Slovak IMO. Mothers Milk is great.

John Frusciante released six albums last year.

They recorded 14songs when they had a tour break before the greatest hits was released (with fortune faded one of those songs). They are currently taking a break in tour to write and record songs.

Live from Hyde Park had some really good new songs imo, rolling sly stone was nearly back to there best (the bssm style)

I know that from by the way sessions about 30 songs were recorded, and for californication it was about 20, so if those are anything to go by they are well past half way to making another album. I'd expect some news soon.

Not many. Like two or something. And then a few covers. Slane Castle DVD kicks the shit out of Hyde Park, from a purely aural perspective.

yeh i think it only had 2 or 3 new tracks, but that was a live recording so they arent going to play many songs they havent released.

rhcp are still great, by the way was not a bad record, it just wasnt a classic album like bssm, or up to the standard of californication. imo by the way was a great album which should the peppers maturing as a band meaning they will lose some older fans and gain some new fans.

I hope they dont just release the offcuts from their previous albums and expect it to be good. Only The Bealtes have ever managed to pull that off.

there was talk of a b sides album at one stage, but it would be recognised as a bside album not a totally new piece of work.

and chilis have a great collection of songs never to have been on a full studio album.

lets make evil, soul to squeeze, gong li, rolling sly stone, time...

i wouldnt mine some bside of the mothers milk era, i have most of the bsides from bssm, ohm and cali.
