The development of class consciousness is indeed inevitable as the capitalist relations of production begin to buckle under their inherent tendendies towards crisis and contradiction.

Is that a yes? He said "indeed", so I thinks it's a yes...

Who really gives a damn. The CPA has run in the federal and state elections numerous times in the recent past. Besides, they're nothing more than a bunch of red-washed liberals, the left-wing of capital.

This kind of mechanical determinism is foreign to Marxism, there is a clear tendancy toward the development of class consciousness and open class struggle in times of open crisis, but it is meaningless to call this trend inevitable in the face of ruling class ideology and state compulsion of capitalist austerity measures.

Additionally, capitalist relations of production are not begining to buckle. Capitalism has been a decadent mode of production for nearly a century. The current economic crisis is merely the open expression of this decadence and the increasing barbarity that capitalist relations of production impose upon humanity. Capitalist relations of production do not "buckle" or collapse on their onw, their destruction and supercession is and can only be the task of the working class itself.

Has Comrade Nebs witnessed a significant growth in the number of new members gracing the Socialist Alternative?
Such a trend would only indicate the growing influence of left-wing of capital, of ruling class ideology within the working class (or should I say middle class university students?).

We've already witnessed, and are continuing today to see a clear resergance in the class struggle since the early 2000's. Whilst today the revolutionary working class movement is only beginning to find it's feet once again - from little acorns, mighty oaks grow.
