put skilled workers into programs to get their overseas quals inline with australian standards ie engineers and shit getting qualified for australia institute of engineers etc

I'd posit that in conjunction with your solution there should be some sort of assessment of their efforts at the end of such education, permitting they are healthy enough. It's just I don't know if I'd feel comfortable deporting them

um even with the current system or the proposed system, they will be allowed into the country if they are found to be reffos regardless of education or health

my idea is no different

just instead of torturing for 18 months them we place emphasis on processing quickly and giving them some lessons on how to behave like human beings while they are in there

iirc the costs of the three major schemes:

as in community detention: $10,000 pp
onshore detention: $50,000 pp
offshore detention: $500,000 pp

fucken blows my mind why anyone would want offshore processing, besides wanting TO STOP THE BOAST
