what do you have to do if you want to remove a mole, not a huge one, but a small one. What process do you have to go through and what kind of doctor you visit?

i have one behind my neck, it appeared out of no where. I think i got it from going to the beach too much without a sun screen on, whoops

Just go to your regular doctor to have it checked out. Dunno if they'll actually do the removal themselves but they'll at least send you the right way..

I think that it'l be a bit painfull (stingy), because I heard that doctors "burn" it off, or something like that.

Your local doctor should be able to remove it easily if it's a small mole. From what I remember, I had mine removed when I was 12. And it's not painful. They get this cylinder tube and hover is over the mole to burn it off. It may have been a laser but I couldn't feel a thing. And it was gone within 2 seconds. The only thing is, the exact place where the mole was, would turn a paler shade than your skin. The scar would be the same size as the previous mole. But this would eventually even out.

Big mole = surgical removal
Small mole = freezed off (no anaesthetic )

I just had one taken off a month ago with anaesthetic, and let me tell you anaesthetic is the single most painful thing in the world. But maybe that was coz it was on my face ;)

Anywho, go see your doc or a skin clinic ASAP. Chances are if it's just 'popped' up they'll take it off as a precautionary measure and they'll probably biopsy it. Depending on size and location will determine whether they freeze it off or chop it off.

Go to your GP who will give you a referral to a dermatologist.

But, it's not a tumour.
