Hey guys,

you know the 2 ext. responses in business we have to do..
so the first one is just the single question that has to be a report right?

so what abt the last section where we gotta make a choice between 2? should we write in report format or essay?
also, in that last section, do you have to make reference to ur case study despite which of the 2 questions you choose?

i jsut need help on both ext. responses in general, in terms of preperation and how to go about it, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

thanks guys.

Section 3 is a Business Report, Section 4 is in the form of an extended response, its structure is dependant on the question, however generally you'll be using a similar tactic to that of S3, an 'essay' style response however with headings and the like.
As for case studies, yep, for the last extended response question (with 2 options) youll need to use a case study regardless of which option you select (it actually mentions this in the syllabus dot point at the top of the page), as for its integration you can use a single case and draw parallels to it through your response, or use multiple cases and relate them when you see fit.

Just practice responses, at this stage past papers are good, remember to keep headings in your reports close to the wording of the syllabus (or text book) to ensure you're covering all the question asks, and also makes it easier for the marker to identify that you've correctly utilised the appropriate information

Usually Section 3 will assess 2 or 3 of the 5 topics, with Section 4 assessing the other 2 or 3.

Section 4, You can either write it as an essay or a more report style with headings etc.....But it is quintessentially an essay. The markers notes say that most choose to do it as an essay but there were a few who included headings to inprove the structure of their response. Its really what your comfortable with.

but if its an extended response isnt it meant to be written in an extended response format or essay ... thats why they give you the other one as a business report.
