well only rep the person back if you find one of their posts helpful, insightful, amusing or intriguing.

you don't HAVE to rep anybody.

and nobody said they go on the site to get repped. Our point was though, if n00b's are looking for who might be some help, they might look at reputation, and therefore its important to have a rep that relflects how much work you put into the site.

I think it's how many boxes you have + how many 1000 posts
heavyweights like asqy bubz etc are worth quite a bit

If I remember correctly you used to have one of those "rep me" type comments in your sig.

i've said before, theres nothing wrong with having rep me in your sig. before i added that, i was getting no rep points at all, and while my life doesn't depend on having a little green box, its good to have a certain amount of rep so that the n00b's know who is actually useful or not.

additionally, while there is nothing wrong with rep me, there isn't something wrong with rep me and i'll rep you back.

i agree, its a much nicer place without neg reps, ppl were being so childish and cruel with it

But I gave people more green then, so I could neg rep a certain person again. Because they deserved it alot.
