Is this uni worth driving an hour and a half for? I applied for it kind of spontaneously and I'm not even sure whether it has a good rep? Is it just another UWS?

It's better than UWS. If UWS is your only other option then it is worth driving an hour and a half for.

It's a quality uni and I drive an hour each way to attend it. It's picked up Uni of the Year a few times recently and has very respectable graduation employment rates.

Plus the rep of a uni doesn't really mean much these days unless it's a specialised degree... if you're doing commerce/arts/education/science, then just find a local uni and make sure you stand out as a student. The only advantage attending a certain university gives you is if you're interviewee went to the same uni and favours you for it.

Well I was planning on doing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in psychology. I also applied for Macquarie (and other unis but that's kind of irrelevant, Macquarie and UoW were my top two preferences). I think I'll get into both Macquarie and UoW, and it's a similar distance for me to drive to Macquarie as it is to drive to UoW, but the drive to UoW would be nicer.

I know that Macquarie has a good reputation, every time I tell people I might be going there they say I should definately go there, but I don't know whether it'll be worth going there if I can go to UoW and get a similar education? (I prefer the travel to UoW over the travel to Macquarie)

P.S. -- sorry if that was slightly confusing.

An arts degree is an arts degree is an arts degree. The Psych department at UoW is very good, I've got a couple of friends in the degree. Just go with whichever uni appeals to you more travel/campus/etcwise, which would probably be UoW purely on your travel preferences.

Centrelink doesn't care where you get your arts degree from.

I've had 4 friends graduate with Arts (Pysch) degrees and they all walked out with $60k+ jobs so the UOW rep can't be too bad.

Thats not really the case now is it. over all the top 2 unis are ANU and melbourne, UoW is way behind. I think you are confused and referring to how UoW was ranked 1st in one area (teaching performance) , however over all it isnt ranked in the top 10 in Aus. http://www.australian-universities.com/rankings/
