Hi everybody I just today recieved an assignment in class. The assignment is a speech/presentation which concerns one issue relating to Retreat from the Global. I've chosen the issue: The conflict between the global and the local, however one part of the assignment asks us to "take into account relevant past and contemporary responses to the idea" - this has left me dumbfounded and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or advice regarding this. I've also chosen to include references to Shipping News and Alistair MacLeod but wanted to fill my presentation with another reference, and this has proved to be a bit of a problem as well.
