Surely the ICC should be aiming to promote the rule of law (and it does). But for the rule of law to have true meaning, shouldn't societies be able to accept their own responsibilities and confront their own pasts? If Iraq decides that this is best done in the ICC, then so be it. But should they choose to prosecute Baathist party officials themselves, why should the case be 'kicked up' to the ICC?

(And while innocent until prove guilty is a nice idea, it's a hard sell with cases like Saddam, or Osama)

The random trolling comment from me is me showing you how much I believe in your posts. And it wasn't random seeing as you called me an ignorant fuck and then questioned my knowledge of the actual matter I was commenting on... So I replied... and then you say my reply's random... Sorry but that doesn't fit.

I dont think any of us have enough information to make a valid judgement as none of us know the 'real' truth and the 'real' facts to be able to say "Yeh Saddam should be tried here" or "George Bush Snr. is the cause of all this bullshit".
