How about "No More Drama" by Mary J Blige?

Falling, or Fallen by Sarah McLachlan.

As for sad, im not sure, but the following songs make me cry:

"A Kiss at the End Of The Rainbow"

"One More Time"

Performed by Catherine O'Hara (Kevin's Mum in Home Alone) and Eugene Levy (Jason BIggs Dad in American Pie). This was from the Motion Picture "A Mighty Wind" Dir. Christopher Guest.

saddest song of all time, ever, in the history of the universe-
good woman by cat power

your spirit drags the pack- sleepy jackson
soul- ohia (i'll be damned if this isn't the most soul destroying vocal i've ever heard)
beck- lonesome tears
belle and sebastian- fox in the snow
hey- the pixies (i dunno why but this makes me really sad, it reminds me of when you know a relationship isn't going to work out at all)

Well aware, and I did.

Stamos - is that as in John Stamos from Full House... how rad
yeah he lived in a basement with a grown man in san fransisco

who says full house didn't confront controversial issues :p

btw why hasn't anyone mentioned smog yet? that has to be some of the most hilariously depressing music ever made

Try, Try, Try - Smashing Pumpkins.
The theme to Braveheart has always struck me as a sad song, too.

To add to earlier listing 'The Eternal', I'd add the rest of Closer, as well as;
The Smiths-Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me
Sigur Ros-Ny Batteri
Big Star-Holocaust
Jeff Buckley-Nightmares By The Sea (As it is, it isn't a particularly sad song, but these lyrics take a depressing new meaning in light of Jeff's drowning. Stay with me, under these waves tonight/ Be free, for once, in your life tonight..)
Radiohead-Street Spirit (fade out).
