The Goo Goo Dolls.

On a personal note, that Aerosmith song bugs me.. Just seems rather cliche'. May have said it earlier, but;

Modest Mouse-Lives.
Everyones afraid of their own lives,
If you could be anything you want,
I'd bet you'd be disappointed am I right? Am I right?
No one really knows the ones they love,
If you could hear everything they thought
I bet you'd wish that they'd just shut up.

Well you were the dull sound of sharp math
When you were still alive,
No one's gonna play the harp when you die
And if I had a nickel for every damn dime,
I'd have half the time, do you mind?

Its hard to remember, its hard to remember we're alive,
For the first time, its hard to remember, its hard to remember we're alive, for the last time,
It's hard to remember, its hard to remember to live before you die,
Its hard to remember that our lives are such a short time, its hard To remember what it takes such a long time, its hard to remember..

My mum's God is a woman and she is a witch,
My hell comes from inside, comes from inside myself,
Why fight this.

Everyones afraid of their own lives,
If you could be anything you want,
I'd bet you'd be disappointed am I right?

there's a song that was played in the last episode of dawsons creek, when the blonde girl was dying and she was in the hospital
i don't watch crap, but it was the holidays and daytime tv shows were very tempting!
anyways, i looked it up, and it's called "say goodnight, not goodbye" and it's by beth nielson chapman
it's really good.
other songs that make me cry are
my reply - the ataris
iris - goo goo dolls
adam's song - blink 182
hmm, can't think of any more at the moment...

saddest song at the moment: ozi battla -- starship troopers (but that's more personal reasons than the actual song)

saddest song ever: radiohead -- hunting bears

for real

glad to see we agree on something..

the billie holiday version is the saddest than the bjork version... the heather nova version is the least saddest..
I love this song...no chance of committing suicide over it either. :)

I prefer the Sarah Brightman version though. Listening to the Billie Holiday make didn't sound as nice somehow. I probably got the wrong rip, eh?

another few songs:

charlie song cycle (that is no. 1,2, and 3) by the whitlams are some pretty moving songs if you know the stories behind it...basically about a band member's suicide..

curse stops here - a b-side by the band above (also about suicide this time about 2 members)...

i'll think of some more....imagine by lennon has a pretty moving effect on me..makes me think about the despair in the world...

give me songs that have raw emotion and the singer can really express it...now thats sad..

ditto!

one of the saddest, yet nicest songs is 'To Where You Are' by Josh Groban (see avatar). It's on his debut album.
