Hi i'm new at this site. I'm confused about the marks you put into the SAM. Are they just the HSC exam marks? What about the school assessment ranks and marks? do the numbers you put in represent the combined marks?

-totally confused and lost... please help

They are aligned HSC marks.

The HSC mark consists of the mean of your HSC exam + moderated assessment mark.

At this stage it would be very hard to predict such a mark though.

 thanks i get it now... and also... for the HSC do they take a person's ranking in their school? or do they take both ranking and percentage? is it like the SC where they actually give you a band or like A, B ...etc. for you school assessment total?

Your ranking is one of the contributions when they moderate your assessment mark.

The 2 other contributions are the relative difference in marks between each student in your school, and your year's HSC exam marks.

You do not receive A's, B's etc...

Rather you receive marks which fall in 1 of 6 bands from 1-6.

Band 2 being 50-60, band 6 being 90-100.

Getting band 1 is extremely rare.
