Not a music student but did do music before yrs 11 and 12 and yes yes i dont have the 'appreciation' or 'talent' that you all have BUT I LOVE MY ALTO SAXOPHONE and was disappointed when reading this forum that not many (if at all?) people were talking about there JAZZ pieces for sax!

its just harder to get good marks if you play all jazz, coz a lot of examiners are fully classicaly trained and dont appreciate good jazz, like you could do really well with jazz, but you could really not, it depends on the examiner on the day, so its totally not worth taking the risk...!

most people i know play a mixture, like one or two jazz and the rest classical?
