Those "conservative cunts" probably pay the greatest deal of the bill for the SBS in taxes, I believe in public channel instutions, I believe in public funding, I believe that these institutions should be balanced not to reflect any particular opinion. Who watches commercial channels anyway? BRAINLESS PEOPLE WHO DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE. SBS (and to a lesser extent ABC) provide real insights into our world. That is the point of funding media - to offset the social damage created by right-winged commercial crap infesting people's minds. They're not created by perfect market but within a monopoly market.

Eventually when people can quit being mentally handicapped and learn to live together it will more than likely go back to being neutral. I always thought that SBS preserved balance. It also had the best shows eg( Neon Genesis, Fat Pizza, SOCCER! )

Yes I totally agree. SBS shows real news and current affairs, not some irrelevant stories about celebrities and rescuing pets or comparing soap powders and busting conmen. It shows real movies, not mainstream blockbusters and chickflicks, real documentaries rather than degenerate reality TV. And it shows real football, not gayeffel or similar.

I wouldn't say SBS is leftist, but if it is, it functions as a way of balancing the right wing trash on the commercial channels designed to make us placid and unthinking...so we have two 'left' channels, ABC and SBS, and three 'right' channels, Ten, Prime and Win.

What's the problem?

SBS doesn't show 'porn' any worse than that shown on Big brother...and it doesn't feature money grabbing pieces of crap like those ridiculous uplate game shows...and these smutty movies are generally quite good if you can get past the sex scenes and the subtitling. They make you think.

When was what they show on SBS porn? Just because Europeans are a little less uptight about sex in movies and nudity (omg boobies!) doesn't make it smut or porn. What about all the 'pornography' on the commercial channels? I can turn onto CSI Miami and watch some lady get graphically electrocuted in a bath tub. Whats worse? A bunch of eastern Europeans getting their freak on or watching a women get electrocuted in a bathtub?

As for SBS bias. They actually show actual footage of what is going on in Iraq. How unbelievably bias! I bet some Liberal Senators would prefer them to show positive stories about how Baghdad will get it's first McDonald's.
