Don't need to know that for our sc.

Why should people be worried about global warming and the greenhouse effect?
cos it is causing rises in sea levels, causing temperatures to rise and will create extremeties of weather (e.g. floods, drought etc.). It greatly affects ecosystems, as minor variations in these ecosystems can have a big impact (e.g. temperature changes in coral reefs can destroy the coral)

What is continental drift?
The theory that all the continents once used to be conjoined. Due to convection currents etc etc they are constantly moving around.

Next question: A car(1) is travelling at 40km/ph and another car(2) is travelling at 60km/ph. They are racing and thus start at the same point. If after 2 and a half hours, the cars double and halve their speed respectively, how long will it take car 1 to catch car 2.

Sort of a motion/maths question. Good one nonetheless.

What is mitosis? What is produced by mitosis? Why does mitosis occur? How many chromosomes are in each product created by mitosis?

Why has the atomic model changed in recent years? What was the old model and what is the model which is now accepted my most people?
used to think that there were no atoms and just 4 elements - fire, earth, water and air. Most accepted model is Dalton's atomic theory (all matter is made of atoms, atoms of the same element are alike, atoms cant be broken down etc.). The only problem with Daltons theory was that atoms can be broken down into protons, neutrons and electrons.

Mitosis is a form of asexual reproduction that occurs in body cells. It produces two daughter cells which are identical to the parent cell. It is needed for the growth of organisms and the repair/replacement of dead/damaged body cells (skin and blood cells can become damaged or can die with old age). Resulting products are diploid (contain 23 pairs of chromosomes).

it wasnt disproved, michelson-morley experiment had a null result which meant either it didnt exist or their current model of aether was wrong,
I said the theory was disproved...

The Earth is estimated to be around 4 billion years, if they ask about the universe well noone knows so i doubt that will come up..

earth is 4.5 billion years old according to the fossil record/radioactive dating, universe is 13.7 billion years old (usually rounded up to 14 bill) according to the big bang theory.
