Can someone please explain to me the difference between the aligning and the scaling of marks. I don't really get it :S
^ That.As far as I know, scaling occurs in the calculation of your ATAR, when subjects are given a weighting based on their difficulty. Aligning occurs when your raw HSC exam marks are altered to your final exam mark. For example, if you recieve a raw mark of 80/100 on your HSC Chemistry paper, this may align up to a Final HSC exam mark of 92/100. Thats roughly what each is, although someone might be able to give you a more exact explaination.
