study hard and do well, you can still achieve a high UAI.

You can always get a high UAI with any subject combination.

Yes that is true, if you already assume that because you are doing those subjects, the chances are you wouldn't do very well.

First thing to do is to look at the UAI you wish to aim for.

Then try to work towards it, I'm sure there are heaps of people who managed to attain a high UAI with similar subjects to yours.

sounds rite...i started workin realli realli hard last term,(da 1st term of yr 12)..but it doesn't reflect on da mark...
i screwed everythin...i was pretty upset, n thinkin abt give up...
i try 2 tell myself :"ur subject WOULDN'T gain u a 93 UAI nor u r no doin well on them..hsc isn't dat important, diploma still can work it out, just let urself go.."
but actually i do realli care abt hsc....i do wanna try...*sigh*

You definitely should try.

At the end of year 12 you'd regret giving up if your decided to choose that path, and it's not going to be a pleasant feeling.

try not to thinking about scaling at all, just focus on doing well and studying.

Remember the mark you receive at school not nearly as important as rank. You can always usually do well if you start picking up your act in the half-yearlies.

Yes, Ragerunner is right. You picked your courses already. there is no use banding your head against the wall.

I did ESL and no extension courses like you. I got 95.70. So don't give up hope!

ESL scales up if you are in the Top 1% ;)

failing dosnt really matta in internal skool assesments, as long as u dont stuff ur rank up ( so long as everyone stuffs up like u relatively)...lol
i got 47% in my 2Unit RE trial and i thought i was dead, but everyone else stuffed up like me so in the end it didnt matta...i was given an 86 for my internal assesment mark (my hsc aligned mark was like 83) and it ended up being one of the greatest contributers to my uai (apart from adv english and legal)

Only Chemistry and Biology.

Vet courses basically requires little study and a great deal of common sense. I'm sure you can try a little harder.

And santaslayer is right. If you get a good rank, it doesn't really matter whether your assessment mark is 90 or 45.

As to ESL, try and practise on your essay writing and interpreting texts. Use the standards package as a guide.

Good luck! :)

Standard Packages are previous Exam resoponses by HSC students..they guide u what is expected of u in the Exam. Like they range from band 1-6. You can get them burnt on CD from your skool library.

Someone give a better definition...am i correct??

This year's cut-off for commerce was 95.05.

yeah standards package gives exemplar answers, but theyre not always full markers in the band 6 section, as they dont want to show the best answers and intimidate upcoming candidates. choc-chip, if doing ESL, work on speaking correctly all the time. whether when speaking to others or typing "da" and crap like that on this board. practice your eloquence and you will become more articulate, dramatically assisting your english ability. as for other subjects, the old cliche...they dont matter. sure you probably wont get 100, but you can kill 95 no worries no matter what you choose. work hard, consistently and youll get there. good luck.

I think he meant the answers given in the band 6 responses arent always full marks just band 6 marks while exemplar one are full marks.
