I'm not sure about you guys but with the price of hex going up I think it time we should get a more in-depth view of what money we can get out of scholarships .......

is there anyway that a scholarship forum can be made up that informs us of what Scholarships are available, who is able to get them, where they are useful for and when they need to be applied for?

so that all off us can get an equal change at going to one of our decent uni with out worrying about what you have to pay off after

not really.... i was offered co-op and i doubt i was the highest achiever.

to tell you the truth the are very few scholarships for high achievers.

some are

$3000 (1st year) at UOW if your top 100 students in region
$5000/year at USYD if you got 99.95 or 100 UAI.....

and thats about it

The main thing is to BS alot in you application and try to impress them in the interview :)

btw. most scholarships you need 93 UAI+, i just don't normally consider that high achiever in the context of scholarships.

if you want to know about scholarships you can ask me, i've done alot of research on them.

N/A
$8000 a year at Sydney if you got 100
$5000 a year if you got 99.95. I *think* 99.85+ get offered something too.

$6000 once off from UNSW

and $2000 from the Australian government if you're in the top 150 students in NSW.

All the above ones do not need to be applied for.

Yeah, jm got that right, e.g. at UNSW there are no scholarships for med (unless you got one of the 6 scholarship bonded positions). Most of their scholarships go to rural/abo/disadvantaged students.

nah, the sydney $8000 dollar a year needs an interview

also it is my experience the sydney is the hardest to get scholarships at. I was offered $3000 for first year.

USYD:
$5k a year for 99.95/100
$8k a year for 98+ and interview
$5k a year for 95+ and interview

So what general scholarships do UNSW have?

the offer was for computer science, there were no scholarships last year for telecommunications engineering...

also, computer science places were almost slashed in half.

damn IT slow down... damn worldcom collapse
