a friend of mine got one from the DET, basically she gets all her HECs and stuff paid for, any uni related excursions or whatever paid for, and $1500 a year for textbooks.
however, she must pass every subject.

all she did was apply, and then it was based on an interview.

Oh yeah one of my friends also got a teaching scholarship (I am assuiming DET = department education and training)...

I guess the moral to the storey is there are heaps of scholarships out there with different selection criterea, prerequisites ect. and you just need to find one that suits you...

Most scholarships have a requirement, like a C average. If you're being sponsored by a company, or have a work integrated scholarship, some of them expect you to get a D average. What kind of bullshit is that ;)

i got a scholarship, my UAI was only 71.35. so it's possible. the only thing i have to do now is pass all my subjects.

..however its not an overly generous one... but it helps :)

aim high and you're bound to get something...
