Yes. That's the reasonable reason why parents send their kids to school.

As far as I know they have to supply you with plastic gloves if you ask for them because of sanitation issues. Can't remember where I read that, might have been the leaflet the government gave us all around year nine (it was about our rights). I never tried telling this to a teacher though because it might simply have landed me in detention.
