i doubt it because the UAI's are not calculated on basis of scool rankings at least i hope notsinist4 said:hey does anyone know if ur uai will be affected, if you go to a really poor school that is rank like at 500 and sumthing ?

In fact they are. You should know that since you're an '05er...Sonic said:i doubt it because the UAI's are not calculated on basis of scool rankings at least i hope not
No it wouldn't matter much, especially if you're at the top. It all depends on YOU to determine what UAI you get. If you're doing badly (at or below average), then your UAI may be lowered due to YOUR PERFORMANCE RELATIVE TO THE STATE, not the school's performance.sinist4 said:hey does anyone know if ur uai will be affected, if you go to a really poor school that is rank like at 500 and sumthing ?

That's correct insert-username.insert-username said:This will only happen to people ranked below 1. The person who is ranked first will retain their own marks and not be affected by the rest of their class. This is the only thing stopping me from despairing that I'll get a crappy UAI because half my class is subpar.
That is the plan, anyway. At least the upper half of my class is quite strong, so I shouldn't be affected as much.webby234 said:You need to do well in your actual HSC exams, because if you are ranked first in your school, then your exam mark will be your school assessment mark (assuming you also do the best in your school in the exam). If you do this, there will be no disadvantage.
Exactly. Don't spend time worring about school scaling cos if you study and work hard then you'll get the marks and uai you deserve regardless of what school you go to.Riviet said:You can't do much about it, other than work hard and score high yourself.
