I go to the worst selective school in existence. The administration would do a "better" job than the Americans in governing Guantanemo Bay. Our results in subjects other than mathematics is putrid. Our rank has slipped dramatically since the new regime of Ms Coombes.

Anyway, maths is our best by far. They were stingy with A's but everyone got over 90, with few people at the low end. My marks are in another thread.

Regarding bands: coming top 3-5% of the sc cohort in the hsc isn't going to give you a very nice UAI.

heh
I was going to download the application form (our school won't give it)... I found out it was past the deadline. :( I think I could've gotten into James Ruse with my half-yearly report... unless they know the truth about how crap my school is.

Sydney Secondary College... is that selective?

Well that rules me out...
Oh well, I'll have to stay in Sefton, and I'll just have to top every damn subject I do next year... pfft... not going to be easy.
This is going to be the scariest two years of our lives.

i applied for another selective shcool in year 12 :)
i got in :) but i had a long hard talk to the principal at Girraween about my "exceptional" circumstance, so yeah :) i got accepted.. i just started this term. it isnt the best of all feeelings. i mean, i feel left out everynow and again with things, but i'm proud to say that i have adjusted well :D

as far as Ruse goes, i called them up and they said they dont take year 12. Fort st said that too, but apparently did a few interviews.. so i wouldnt know. just hand your application in anyway. and you guys go to a good selective school already, why are you complaining? :p

um, not to be patronising, but as someone who is already taking 4u english... if you value a) your social skills and b) your sanity, don't take that many extensions. hell, advanced english is currently threatening my sense of sanity, and this is only taking 3 classes... extension classes are hell also...specifically ones which revolve around a major work...

Lol...our school has trouble convincing enough ppl to take the first extension for english and maths. As it stands at present, i know of only one other girl who is also doing eng ext with me :(.
And have heard there is about 7-9 ppl doing extension maths.

Of course take into account that I go to a government school.

heh, preliminary extension english was actually fun, albeit a lot of work... it's the HSC po-mo stuff that's giving me trouble :) i would encourage people to do it regardless if they enjoyed the subject, but FIVE extension classes in yr 12? it's like... do you plan to sleep or go out at all??

what gov school do you go to?
