I went last year to the goldcoast and had a great time, here are a few pointers for those going this year or considering going this year.
< Those going to surfers if you are under 18 make sure you go up during the first week. There is nothing, i repeat there is nothing to do if you are underage. You can expect nights of just wondering around cavill ave and sitting on the beach till about 4 in the morning.
< Make sure your hotel is close to cavill ave, ours was about a 15min walk. This meant that if we wanted to visit our friends hotel we had to walk 15mins to cavell then a further 10mins to get to their hotel which ends up being about a 25min walk. Which was a bit of a pain in the ass.
< There are cops everywhere and if you are acting a bit strange or they suspect you have been drinking they put you in the back of their car and take you to the station. So just stay away from police
< Make sure all the drinking takes place in the hotel room, there is a 0 tolerance on drinking in public so expect a hefty fine if caught drinking(even if you are over 18)
< Last tip is to have a great time and get ready for the best week of your life.
