Seeing that nobody's bothered yet, I'll add something.

I'll be doing a BE/BSc, possibly majoring in biochemistry and/or maths for science but that's yet to be decided.

Yeah that's very true. I have got a friend doing B Arts/Science. He's doing triple majors (computer science and double in maths) in science and double in arts. What a legend (and freak) he must be :)

Nah I am only taking a double major, which is what most ordinary ppl do. And I am certainly not as good as a freak :)

BTW, do you know me? Or do I know you?

Single major = 24cp at 3rd year level, hence
Double major = 48cp at 3rd year level, so you do 48cp of maths at 3rd year level.

It does sound a bit crazy doesn't it :)

hehe but by the time everyone is in 2nd year there are so many ppl doing 16-20cp of maths each semester, so 2 majors in maths wouldn't hurt so much
at least you don't have to read through tons of theory

I don't think there are that many ppl in 2nd year doing 16-20cp of maths EACH SEMESTER. Most people doing double major in maths probably start doing some 3rd year maths in 2nd year or even 1st year, so that they won't be stuck on a full year of maths in 3rd year. However, 48cp of maths at Sydney Uni will almost certainly involve a substantial number of theory courses :(

There are quite a number of highly technical courses that you may encounter in 2nd/3rd year. They are made really tough, thanks to the lecturer. And 30% raw in the exam could be transformed into a D, that tells you how hard the exams could be :( Ask the Class of 2001 or 2002 and they'll tell you how bad it was.
