Hey guys,

Which courses do second year commerce students take during semester 1? (acct/fin majors)

So far I'm looking at
ACCT2522
FINS1612
FINS2624

Thanks.

Have you done all your flexi-core yet?
Nar not yet, would it be advisable to do my last one now? Wanna make sure cause I want to be able to reach the prerequisites for 2013 sem2 stuff.

Been looking at legt2741 and fins3626....
Can anyone confirm whether there are any lecture recordings for legt2741? lectures are only available at night time.... lol

and fins3626... is this a common course to do when doin acct/fin

I wouldn't recommend doing 3 Finance subjects in one semester...

That's three of my courses next sem... Well, I'm doing flexi-core of Business Law. I don't think it's a good idea to pack too much finance. If, like me, you are only doing FINS1613 atm, then it might be good not to be too overextending with your courses, especially as a large majority of second and third year courses are much harder than first year courses.

Personally, I would just recommend you pick a flexi-core you will enjoy and do well in (factoring in its use ofc)

I see.. so I guess my choices should either be legt2741 or a flexi... still need someone who's doing/done legt2741 to confirm whether there are lecture recording... staying from 6-9pm at uni for me is just.. insane

pretty much once your core is over you can enroll in anything

re: fins3626 - not hard at all. just tutorials are intensive, its like 95% students talking, 5% tutor talking, rather than normal tutes where its 95% tutor, 5% students. dont let the course code fool you, its fairly easy as long as you keep up, group work is a bit shady but yeah no real calculations/capm/diversification theory to worry about. it is good because you can make it count for an ACCT or FINS major.
